Frustrated with the gestational diabetes plans found online. The meals felt dated, focused on highly-processed foods, and like “diet” foods – ALL things I was not interested in when creating a healthy environment for my baby. So I created the ultimate gestational diabetes meal plan guide for YOU.
Here are some sample snack ideas: 1 oz low-fat cheese with 5 whole grain crackers or 1 brown rice cake. 1 small cut apple with 1 oz of low-fat cheese or 1 tablespoon nut butter. 3 cups air-popped popcorn with 1/4 cup nuts. Try 20 other diabetes-friendly snacks.
Since the carb allowance for lunch with gestational diabetes is normally 30 to 40 carbs, each recipe includes the portion size and carb count. We've done the same with dinner recipes to give you all the information you need to meal plan and make life easier.
A diagnosis of gestational diabetes can be overwhelming. Asking your doctor for resources, including a consultation with a registered dietitian, can you feel more supported and provide meal and snack ideas.
