Common fermented drinks include wine, beer, sake or cider. Fermentation is the process where the natural sugar that’s present in the main ingredient (glucose andfructose in grapes and apples, starch in grain…) is converted into alcohol & CO2 under the action of yeast.

What is the best way to start fermenting?

The best way to start fermenting is just to start fermenting. So try some of these out and watch your body thank you in the process. My absolute FAVORITE fermenting vessel: Fido Jars.

How to make whiskey in a fermentation vessel?

Pour the mash into your fermentation vessel. Top off with cold (chlorine free) aerated water to just over 5 gallons (approx. a quart over). Let cool to <85 F. Sprinkle room temperature whiskey yeast across top of mash. Wait 15-20 minutes until yeast has rehydrated then stir in gently.
