Talking about the reason why the Ralph Lauren polos shrink is only that cotton has a tendency to shrink and the products are made with the best quality cotton. No matter what, cotton shrinks up to a limit and that's why you must wash them carefully so that they don't shrink majorly.
The same result is also to be expected if the shirt is dry cleaned. Hope this helps. They shrink because RL uses 100% cotton, I suggest instead of machine drying your Polos, lay them flat on a table for them to air dry not only will this keep the shirts from shrinking but also keep the color lasting longer.
