Overall, the Wilson D7 Forged irons are a great combination of a few things: distance, feel, and distance control. I’d consider this a “distance players iron”, which is simply a players iron with stronger lofts. The average 6 iron on the market has 31 degrees of loft. The Wilson D7 6 iron has 27.5 degrees of loft.

The Wilson’s D7 irons come in at $599 (steel shaft) and $699 (graphite shaft). True be told, we really enjoyed testing these irons. The redesign from the D300 was really well done. Anyone who has played Wilson irons before should take a peek the D7 irons. On appearance alone, the D7 is a much more attractive club than the D300’s.

You have the new LaunchPad irons – a Super-Duper Game Improvement anti-chunk iron. The year-old D7 is Wilson’s longest iron and is, ostensibly, an SGI iron. However, Wilson says nearly 40% of last year’s D7 sales were through the Custom Department and, based on the shafts and specs, were made for better players looking for distance.

Meet The D7. There’s plenty of performance tech to talk about with the D7, but the most startling difference is its looks. D7 bears little, if any, resemblance to the 2-year-old D300, which it’s replacing. “We have a strong history of what I’d call very bold and very red design elements,” says Wilson Golf Club Innovation Manager Jon Pergande.

The Wilson D7 Forged irons retail for $899 for Steel shafts, and $999 for Graphite. Similar clubs in this category cost upwards of $1400, so the D7s represent tremendous value. Wilson was also kind enough to offer Three Guys Golf readers a 15% discount code (WilsonGolf15-0), making them even a better value than they already are.

D7 Forged would be my likely choice. Has a lot going for it and looks great too. But I would not rule out the standard D7, even if only in the long irons. I see a few Wilson enthusiasts regularly and they rave about the distance boost with the D7.

Brought the demo set of Wilson Staff D7 irons to try - here are a few thoughts. 1. They are long - the lofts are strong (28* 7-iron), but they go long with a nice high flight. 2. They fly really, really high. 3. The soles are pretty wide - a good bit wider than Foz's Cobra F8 irons. Definitely in the Super Game Improvement category. 4.

Wilson D7 irons review: First impressions. I like the design of these clubs. There’s clearly some visual technology but not quite as much as we have seen in the D300 and C300 range. The D7 irons are quite clean and simple with a really nice, shiny chrome finish. They are still quite large and do have a fair bit of offset but they are by no

Overall the Wilson Staff D7 irons are a solid set of irons from Wilson. There is nothing that we can say negatively about the performance, except the fact that they are built more for a mid handicapper than a beginner. The issue we have with the D7 is that for a set of Wilson irons, they are a bit expensive.

There are a few reasons. The Wilson D7 irons have very strong lofts. There’s 28˚ on the 7-iron. To put that into context, the Mizuno MP-18 7-iron has 34˚ of loft. There’s 27˚ on the 5-iron. So we needed to find an iron that was similar, not only in loft but also in size and profile. With a 28.5˚ 7-iron the TaylorMade M4 seemed like a

Wilson Staff Di7 Irons. Simply stated, the new Wilson Staff Di7 irons are not like other clubs. A lower profile moves the center of gravity down for higher ball flight. In 2019, Wilson Staff irons were in the bag of a major winner again, thanks to Gary Woodland winning the U.S. Open with the Wilson Staff Model Forged Blades. From a brand perspective, this was a huge win for Wilson, but one quick look into the bag from a consumer relatability side of things would show that few golfers can gain a benefit from hitting a forged blade ala Mr. Woodland.

Our Wilson D7 irons review took place at the brand’s launch event at Castle Royle near Reading and at Leicester Golf Centre using their Toptracer technology. We know from the letter ‘D’ that these are Wilson’s distance irons. So the Wilson D7 irons replace the D300 range and are aimed more at mid-high handicappers.

Well, the C300 has more “power holes” (we truly hate that phrase more than anything) and a slightly different paint job. Oh, don’t forget the price tag that is about 50% less than the Wilson D7 Forged irons. If you are not sold on Wilson irons, consider the Callaway RAZR X Forged irons.
